Benefits of Cavity Sliders
More Than a Door Frame. A Smarter Way to Open a Space.
Premium Cavity Sliding Door Systems Designed for Performance, Precision and Architectural Impact.
At TORNEX, we manufacture cavity sliding door systems that are engineered to do more than simply separate rooms. Our systems are designed to enhance aesthetics, maximise usable space and deliver long term performance across residential and commercial projects. From minimalist trim details to high weight capacities and optional soft close technology, every component is thoughtfully developed to meet modern architectural demands. Whether you are building, designing or renovating, TORNEX cavity sliders provide a refined, practical and versatile solution.
Aesthetics
TORNEX cavity sliding door frames are engineered to deliver a refined architectural finish throughout the entire opening. Our slimline trims run continuously around the perimeter, from the cavity collar to the top track and down the closing jamb, creating a clean and consistent visual line. This design not only enhances the overall appearance but also helps conceal minor plaster variations for a sharper, more polished result.
The system removes the need for traditional pelmets by allowing the door to sit within 5 mm of the track with no exposed hardware. The bottom guide is positioned discreetly inside the cavity, ensuring a clear and unobstructed opening.
Where ceiling continuity is important, the trims alongside the track can be removed so the ceiling line flows seamlessly through the walkway. The result is a modern, minimalist finish that complements both residential and commercial interiors.
Personality
While TORNEX provides a silver anodised finish as standard for exposed components, we recognise that every project has its own design vision. Our sliding systems can be powder coated in a wide range of Dulux aluminium finishes, allowing the hardware to integrate with an existing colour palette or become a subtle feature element.
Colour can reinforce a consistent theme throughout a home or office, or create contrast that enhances architectural detail. Frameless glass doors offer further opportunity to shape the personality of a space by introducing light, transparency and contemporary styling. Glass printing technology also allows patterns, colours or branding elements to be applied to the panel.
This flexibility gives architects, builders and homeowners the freedom to create openings that reflect the character of the entire project.
Space Saving
Maximising usable floor area is a priority in modern residential and commercial design. Traditional hinged doors require a swing arc that consumes valuable space in a room or hallway. Across multiple openings, this unused area can quickly add up and limit layout flexibility.
A TORNEX cavity sliding door system eliminates that constraint by sliding neatly into the wall cavity, freeing up the surrounding floor area for furniture, circulation and design freedom. With a high weight carrying capacity of up to 100 kg per panel, larger doors and wider openings can be achieved without compromising performance.
When paired with frameless glass doors, natural light can flow between spaces, enhancing the sense of openness and creating a brighter, more inviting environment.
Versatility
TORNEX sliding hardware is designed to accommodate a wide range of door types and sizes, with the capacity to support panels up to 100 kg. This allows for the use of timber, MDF, frameless glass and other materials across various design applications.
Each frame is custom manufactured to suit specific project requirements. Whether the opening extends to full ceiling height or incorporates bulkheads and varying ceiling levels, the system can be tailored to deliver the desired clear opening and overall finish.
This adaptability makes TORNEX cavity sliders suitable for both commercial and residential environments, giving designers and builders confidence that the frame will integrate seamlessly into the broader architectural vision.
Practicality
TORNEX cavity sliding door frames are supplied nationally in a semi assembled format to support efficient installation on site. The top sliding track is pre drilled at 200 mm intervals and ready to be fixed to a suitable supporting beam, helping to streamline the build process.
Structural aluminium braces are designed with ridged outer surfaces to improve plasterboard adhesion and are spaced to suit standard sheet widths. The exposed trims surrounding the opening are engineered to conceal both 10 mm and 13 mm plasterboard edges, allowing for a clean finish even where minor variations occur.
Once the frame is installed and the wall is completed, the door panel can be fitted at a later stage. This reduces the risk of damage during construction and allows greater flexibility in project scheduling. These thoughtful details contribute to a complete and well considered cavity sliding door system.
